We’re committed to doing all we can to reduce the environmental impact of traffic travelling to our campus and promote the use of public transport wherever possible.
We’re just a ten-minute walk from the train station which is on the main London Liverpool Street to Norwich line. There are up to six trains an hour to London Liverpool Street which take about 35 minutes. Regular services also run to Stratford, Shenfield, Braintree, Witham, Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea. National Rail Enquiries is helpful for planning your journey.
If you’re travelling on Eurostar it will bring you to King’s Cross, you’ll need to make your way to Liverpool Street station where you can catch a train to Chelmsford.
Chelmsford has two Park and Ride sites with a regular bus service to and from the city.
Chelmer Valley Park and Ride: buses run six days a week from early morning to the evening straight through our campus. We recommend double-checking the timetables before you travel.
Sandon Park and Ride: buses run six days a week from early morning to early evening. They stop in the city centre. You can use your ticket to transfer onto a Chelmer Valley Park and Ride bus for onward travel to the ARU campus free of charge. We recommend double-checking the timetables before you travel.
The bus station on Duke Street is a 15-minute walk from campus with local bus services run by First Group, and National Express coaches usually stopping there. If you’re travelling from Stansted Airport you can catch the regular X30 bus service to Chelmsford.
We’ve got plenty of cycle parking and lots of cycle paths lead on and around the campus.
Chelmsford is around 15 minutes’ drive from the M25 which gives excellent access to the national road network. The A12 is ten minutes away and is a direct route into London.
