Hi! I am Parvez Alam, a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur, India. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, followed by a Master’s in Thermal Engineering at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, under the mentorship of Dr. D. S. Murthy

Currently, I am part of the Experimental Thermofluids Laboratory (ETFL) at IIT Kanpur, working under the guidance of Dr. Umesh Madanan. My research explores thermal convection in fluid-saturated porous media, focusing on systems heated from below and cooled from above.
