What We Do

Partners for Fish and Wildlife is a cooperative effort among many agencies throughout the state, including Foundation for California University of PA, Pheasants Forever Inc., PennWest California, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, USDA-NRCS. R.K. Mellon Foundation, PA Game Commission, PA Fish Commission, PA DEP, National Fish & Wildlife Foundation, County Conservation Districts,  U.S. EPA, PennDOT, Wildlife Management Institute,  Ruffed Grouse Society, National Wild Turkey Federation, Quail Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, DCNR, The Nature Conservancy,  Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Alliance for Chesapeake Bay, Penns Valley Conservation Association, Trust for Tomorrow, and many other important groups.

The program works to restore habitat for wildlife on agricultural and other lands by constructing streambank fencing,  stream crossings, wetlands, native grasslands, border-edge cuts as transitional field-forest habitat, in-stream fish restoration, early-successional growth habitat, and native wildflower fields and patches for pollinators.

Partners for Fish and Wildlife works with landowners to improve water quality and wildlife habitat, restore degraded wetlands and stream vegetation, and restore native grassland and wildflower habitat. In turn, our practices benefit landowners by improving livestock health, water quality and forage.
