Daybreak is a calm, full-screen OK-to-wake clock for early-rising toddlers. A friendly face shows your child whether it's still sleepy time or okay to get up, and the wake-up signal shifts gradually later over days — set it once, and it runs itself.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open the settings? Press and hold the top-left corner of the clock for 2 seconds, then enter your parent PIN. It's hidden so little hands can't get out — the app points it out once after setup.
How does the gradual wake-up work? You set your child's current wake time and a goal wake time once. Daybreak moves the "good morning" sun a little later at your chosen pace until it reaches the goal, then stops.
What's the morning check-in? Each morning you can tap 👍 or 👎 for whether your child stayed in bed until the sun. After a rough night the schedule pauses for the day instead of pushing wake-up later, so one hard night doesn't set you back. It's optional.
Can I put them to bed early tonight? Yes — tap "Start bedtime now" on the daytime screen. Night starts now and tomorrow goes back to your normal schedule. You can set tonight's wake-up time right on the clock.
I forgot my PIN. For safety the PIN can't be recovered — it's stored only on your device as a one-way hash, so no one can read it. To reset, delete and reinstall the app. Because everything is stored on your device, reinstalling clears your settings and you'll set up fresh.
Does it need to stay plugged in? Yes. Daybreak keeps the screen on all night, so keep the phone or tablet on its charger on the nursery shelf.
Does Daybreak collect my data? No — no account, no network requests, nothing leaves your device. See the Privacy Policy.
