Hi there!
My name is Miguel Parra, and I am a PhD student at the University of Alcalá. I hold a Master’s degree in Applied Economic Analysis from the same university, where I was awarded the Best Academic Record, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Cantabria.
I am a member of EQUALITAS and the WEIPO research group, and I previously worked at the Bank of Spain and KSNET.
From October to December 2026, I will be visiting the Department of Social Policy and Intervention and the Economics, Inequality & Opportunity Group at the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET) at the University of Oxford.
My main research area focuses on measuring income and wealth dynamics, with particular emphasis on chronic poverty and its determinants. Additionally, I am interested in education economics, labour, and intergenerational mobility.
In my spare time, you’ll find me in the mountains, either cycling or hiking.
