About
History
The PTA has been at Park Village Elementary since 1994. It's a membership-based organization at the local, regional, state, and national levels. California State PTA is the oldest and largest statewide volunteer organization working on behalf of children, youth, and families. Unit, council, and district PTAs serve more than 750,000 members.
The purpose of the PTA is to promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, places of worship, and throughout the community; To raise the standards of home life; To advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth; To promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education of children and youth; To engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of all children and youth; and To advocate for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding.
Who we are
The PV PTA is a membership based organization made of of parents, teachers, and community members. The membership decides on and approves all actions of the PTA. It has an Executive Board that is made up of an annually elected President, Treasurer, Secretary, Historian, and standing committee chairpersons. The Principal and Teacher's representative are also voting members of the Executive Board.
Opportunities to Help Park Village Elementary
There are several ways to help Park Village Elementary through the PTA. You do NOT need to be a member of the PTA to help. We would be happy to have you officially join, but it is not a requirement. Below is a list in order of committment from least to most:
Volunteer at an event or program. The next big program is the Science Fair in March.
Join the PTA and volunteer to help in one or more events.
Join and take a lead on one of the several programs or events.
Join and take a position as a Committee Chairperson. Help shape a program or event.
Join and take a position as an Executive Board Member. Help shape the direction and operation of the PV PTA Unit.
