Parkes College for Seniors U3A
The University of the third age is a learning community who can be best described as being in active retirement - hence so called the "third Age" of their lives.
The overall aim is to enhance our mental activity with new interests or existing ones, to extend our skills and energies of its own members from a community of scholars - to teach and to learn.
Our Parkes group commenced on the 17th March 1992 at the Parkes Guide hall. We moved to the Masonic Lodge Hall in 1995 when the membership numbers grew to over 100.
We are part of the Central West division of NSW.Â
We have been operating successfully for 32 years with both male and female members in the early years and currently we have a membership of 130+ females.
We now have an email address, Facebook page, along with this web page to bring us into the age of technology.
We currently donate to Ronald MacDonald House, Orange, Cancer Care West Lodge, Orange and locally to our Breast Care Nurse, Di Green.
We have lots of fun and have formed great friendships and support within our group.
