The Sunset Savanna is by far my favorite. It always seems to have the best animal activity, especially near the Kidani Village lobby. It is the largest savanna and is shared by both Kidani Village and Jambo House. From Jambo House, you will find Sunset Savanna rooms along the Kudu trail and the rooms will all be on the 5th floor with the exception of club level on the 6th. From Kidani Village, you will find it from any room inside the semi-circles or necklace (the English word for kidani). These rooms are along both the North and South Trail as low as the 2nd floor and as high as the 5th. Here, you will find the largest variety of animals of all the savannas: male giraffes, bongos, impalas, Thompsons gazelles, ostriches, ankole cattle, waterbuck, African crown cranes, stork, and blue cranes. You could be facing just about any direction depending on the location of your room. If you are not staying on the Sunset Savanna, you can check out one of two overlooks. The first is located off the Jambo House lobby and the second is off the Kidani lobby near Sanaa.
We just stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, club level, for the first time. I was not expecting to love the animals outside my room thinking we would be gone too much. But they were amazingly! Waking up to see them and at night before bed was incredible and relaxing. I will say it was the worst club level experience by far. The pool was uninviting. We loved the sounds at night. We really felt like we had gone to some far away place when we were in our room.

Classes have more characteristics in common than animals in a division or phylum. For example, amphibians, reptiles, and birds belong to the phylum Chordata. However, each of the animals belong to a different class. Amphibians belong to the class of Amphibia which consist of frogs, toads and salamanders. But wolves belong to the family Canidae and cats belong to the family Felidae. The family Canidae consist of animals with long snouts and bushy tails, whereas animals in the family Felidae have short snouts and short-haired tails.
A genus consists of animals with very similar groups, but members of different groups usually cannot breed with one another. Both the coyote and the timber wolf belong to the genus Canis. But coyotes and timber wolves generally do not breed with one another.

A favorite place to come to. We have been com6tk York for 40 years and do the animal kingdom every couple years. Love the paddle boat and feeding the ducks. Kids miss the elephant ride but Enjoyed the very brief camel ride.
My of my favorite zoos to visit. I was there this past weekend. The weather was perfect. The packing lot was filled by 10:30 but the actual zoo was not crowded at all. The animals looked content and very comforable. I was able to finally see the lion up close but he was sleeping. I am definitely going back in August. A great place to visit.
The animal kingdom shows an astonishing diversity, the product of over 550 million years of animal evolution. The current wealth of genome sequence data offers an opportunity to better understand the genomic basis of this diversity. Here we analyse a sampling of 102 whole genomes including >2.6 million protein sequences. We infer major genomic patterns associated with the variety of animal forms from the superphylum to phylum level. We show that a remarkable amount of gene loss occurred during the evolution of two major groups of bilaterian animals, Ecdysozoa and Deuterostomia, and further loss in several deuterostome lineages. Deuterostomes and protostomes also show large genome novelties. At the phylum level, flatworms, nematodes and tardigrades show the largest reduction of gene complement, alongside gene novelty. These findings paint a picture of evolution in the animal kingdom in which reductive evolution at the protein-coding level played a major role in shaping genome composition.
