Materials Structure and Mechanics Lab (MSML)

Welcome to the Materials Structure and Mechanics Lab (MSML) at Seoul National University of Science and Technology!

Our group focuses on advancing the fundamental understanding and predictive modeling of the mechanical behavior of materials. We develop multiscale–multiphysics computational frameworks that bridge processing, microstructure, and mechanical properties. By integrating physics-based models with modern computational techniques, we aim to establish robust ICME (Integrated Computational Materials Engineering) approaches for designing reliable and high-performance materials.

We are currently looking for motivated graduate/undergraduate students to join our team!!

서울과학기술대학교 재료 구조 및 역학 연구실에 오신 것을 환영합니다.

저희 연구실은 재료의 미세구조 및 거시구조 정보를 바탕으로 기계적 거동을 이해하고 예측할 수 있는 모델을 개발하는 것을 지향하며, 이를 전산모사에 적용하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다. 다양한 환경 및 공정–미세조직–기계적 특성을 연결하는 다중스케일·다중물리 계산 모델을 개발하고, 이러한 물리 기반 모델과 최신 계산 기법을 통해 우수한 소재를 설계·최적화할 수 있는 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.
