Broadly, I am interested in sign language acquisition- mostly in children, but I also have some projects with hearing L2 signers. I am interested in the factors that influence signing acquisition, and how they align and differ with spoken language acquisition. Theoretically, I am curious to disentangle modality-dependent and modality-independent features of language, and I am committed to advocating for language acquisition for deaf children.
