Homepage of Parisa Hariri

I am an ECTRIMS fellow at the University of Turku, PET Centre, working at the neuroinflammation research group.  My research mentor is Prof. Laura Airas and my research interests lie in design of clinical trials, and mathematical modeling and statistical analysis of the imaging modalities (MRI and PET) using artificial intelligence and machine learning methods.

I have an MSc in Statistics and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Turku, Finland. My PhD thesis supervisor was Prof. Matti Vuorinen, and my Master's thesis advisor was Prof. Tero Aittokallio.

Previously I was a postdoctoral researcher at Nuffield Department of Population Health of the University of OxfordAnd worked on China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) at  the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU). There, I was  involved in implementing detailed statistical analysis, using conventional and novel methods (Mendelian Randomization), of large, complex and multi-dimensional data collected or to be generated, in the CKB. I also contributed to development of a library of well-structured statistical analysis programming codes.

I also was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford Vaccine Group in the Department of Paediatrics, working on paediatric TB diagnostic studies, in collaboration with statisticians and epidemiologists from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). I was also involved in real world data analysis from clinical observational studies and national/international clinical trials of vaccines and infectious diseases.

My previous experience includes working for a pharmaceutical company in Finland  specialized on design and analysis of clinical trials. There I was involved in studies in different clinical phases and from various therapeutic areas.
