(Body weight (kg) x (target Hb - actual Hb) (g/dl) x 2.4) + mg iron for iron stores
Body weight:
Actual Weight if BMI < 30kg/m 2
Ideal Body Weight if BMI > 30kg/m 2
Pre-pregnant weight for pregnant women
Iron Stores:
• <35 kg body weight = 15 mg/kg body weight
• >35 kg body weight = 500 mg
