Dāna
(“DAH-nuh”)
Dāna is an ancient Pali word, meaning generosity, giving or gift. This practice of generous responsiveness to the generosity offered through the teaching supports both the teacher(s) and the continuation of the teaching. Dana, or generosity, is also one of the central qualities of character (or paramita) of the Dharma practitioner, participation in the full circle of giving.
