HealthTrace (“HealthTrace,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is designed to help users privately record, organize, review, and export health and symptom information.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use HealthTrace, including information you enter into the App, information stored on your device, information you choose to export or share, and information that may be processed by third-party advertising services.
By using HealthTrace, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
HealthTrace is developed and operated by:
Developer/Business Name: Paralin Apps
Privacy Contact Email: paralinapps@gmail.com
Questions, concerns, or privacy-related requests regarding HealthTrace may be submitted using the contact information above.
HealthTrace is a personal health tracking and organization tool.
Depending on the features selected by the user, HealthTrace may allow users to record information such as symptoms, symptom severity, health conditions, sleep, bladder activity, migraines or headaches, functional impact, timestamps, notes, and other health-related observations.
HealthTrace is intended to help users organize information for their own reference and, if they choose, prepare information that may be useful when communicating with healthcare professionals or other individuals.
HealthTrace is not a medical device, healthcare provider, medical records system, diagnostic service, or emergency service.
HealthTrace does not provide medical diagnoses or replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
HealthTrace may process information that you voluntarily enter or record in the App.
Depending on how you use HealthTrace, this may include:
Health conditions selected for tracking;
Symptoms and symptom descriptions;
Symptom severity or intensity;
Dates and timestamps;
Sleep and nap information;
Bladder or voiding information;
Migraine or headache information;
Pain information;
Functional limitations or impacts;
Yes/no symptom responses;
User-selected response options;
Notes, comments, or contextual information;
Information about symptom frequency, duration, or patterns;
Manually edited health entries;
Other health or wellness information that you choose to record.
This information may constitute sensitive health information.
HealthTrace is designed so that health and symptom information entered into the App is stored locally on the user's device.
HealthTrace does not require users to create a HealthTrace account in order to use the App.
HealthTrace does not operate a cloud health-record database for the health information users enter into the App.
HealthTrace does not intentionally transmit users' symptom logs, health conditions, health journal entries, medical notes, or similar user-entered health information to advertising providers for advertising purposes.
HealthTrace does not sell user-entered health information.
HealthTrace does not use user-entered health information to create advertising profiles.
HealthTrace does not provide symptom logs, health conditions, medical notes, health journal entries, symptom severity information, bladder records, sleep records, migraine records, or similar user-entered health information to advertisers for targeted advertising.
Advertising services operate separately from the personal health information users record in HealthTrace.
Information created through HealthTrace may be stored locally in the App's data storage on your device.
Local information may remain on the device until:
You delete individual information using available App features;
You clear the App's data through your device settings;
You uninstall HealthTrace, subject to Android's device and backup behavior;
The information is otherwise removed through functionality provided by your device or operating system.
Because the primary health information is stored locally, you are responsible for protecting access to your device.
Device-level protections such as a screen lock, PIN, password, fingerprint, or other security features can help prevent unauthorized access to information stored on your device.
HealthTrace may provide features allowing users to create, save, export, or share reports or copies of their information.
Depending on the version of the App, exports may include formats such as reports, PDF documents, CSV files, or other user-readable files.
Creating an export does not mean HealthTrace automatically sends that information to us.
When you choose to export or share information, the destination is controlled by you and/or by the applications and services you select on your device.
For example, you may choose to save a report to your device or share it using an email application, messaging application, cloud storage provider, printing service, healthcare portal, or another application.
Once information leaves HealthTrace through a user-initiated export or sharing action, the privacy practices of the receiving application, person, organization, or service apply.
Users should carefully consider the sensitivity of health information before exporting or sharing it.
HealthTrace is supported in part by advertising and may display banner advertisements.
HealthTrace may use Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to provide advertisements within the App.
Advertising technology may automatically process certain information necessary to deliver, limit, secure, personalize where permitted, and measure advertising.
Depending on your device, geographic region, consent choices, Google settings, Android settings, and the configuration of advertising services, this information may include:
Advertising identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID where available;
Device or other identifiers;
IP address;
General device information;
Operating system information;
App interactions related to advertising;
Advertising impressions and interactions;
Diagnostic information;
Performance information;
Approximate location that may be inferred from information such as an IP address, where applicable;
Information used for fraud prevention, security, advertising measurement, frequency capping, or similar advertising operations.
The exact information processed by Google may depend on the Google Mobile Ads SDK, your device configuration, your privacy settings, applicable law, and Google's services.
HealthTrace does not intentionally provide the health and symptom information you enter into HealthTrace to Google AdMob for the purpose of selecting or personalizing advertisements.
Google's processing of information through its advertising services is governed by Google's applicable privacy policies and terms.
Users may be able to control certain advertising personalization settings through their Google Account, Android device settings, or other privacy controls made available by Google.
Where available and permitted, advertising services used by HealthTrace may access the Android Advertising ID for advertising and related purposes.
The Android Advertising ID is a resettable identifier provided by the Android platform.
Users may be able to reset or delete their Advertising ID and manage advertising privacy settings through Android settings.
HealthTrace does not intentionally associate the Android Advertising ID with the health conditions, symptoms, medical notes, or other health information that users enter into HealthTrace.
Depending on applicable laws, geographic location, consent requirements, device settings, and advertising-provider configuration, users may receive personalized or non-personalized advertisements.
Where consent is legally required for certain advertising technologies or personalized advertising, applicable consent mechanisms may be presented to users.
Users may also have additional advertising and privacy controls through their device or Google account.
HealthTrace may use third-party services necessary to provide certain App functionality.
These services may include:
Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK
Used to display and measure advertising and support related advertising, security, and fraud-prevention functions.
Google Play Services / Google Play
Certain Android and Google Play functionality may be provided through Google services installed on or associated with the user's device.
Third-party services operate under their own privacy policies, terms, and data-handling practices.
HealthTrace does not control all information automatically collected directly by third-party services integrated into or used by the user's device.
Unless HealthTrace is updated and this Privacy Policy is revised accordingly, HealthTrace does not require users to provide us with:
A HealthTrace username or account;
A password;
A home mailing address;
A Social Security number;
Government identification numbers;
Payment card information;
Health insurance information;
Precise GPS location;
Contacts;
Call history;
SMS or text-message history.
HealthTrace does not intentionally collect these categories of information through its core health-tracking functionality.
HealthTrace does not sell the personal health information that users enter into the App.
HealthTrace does not sell symptom histories, health conditions, health notes, health reports, or other user-entered health records to advertisers, data brokers, insurance companies, employers, healthcare organizations, or other third parties.
Because user-entered health information is primarily stored locally on the user's device, HealthTrace does not maintain a central retention period for that locally stored information.
Locally stored information generally remains on the user's device until it is deleted by the user, App data is cleared, or the App is uninstalled, subject to device, operating-system, and backup behavior outside HealthTrace's control.
Information processed by Google or other third-party services may be retained according to those providers' respective privacy policies and retention practices.
HealthTrace does not control the retention periods applied independently by those third-party providers.
Because HealthTrace does not require a HealthTrace account and user-entered health information is primarily stored locally, users generally control deletion of their health information directly from their device.
Depending on the available App functionality, users may delete individual records within HealthTrace.
Users may also remove locally stored App information by clearing HealthTrace's application data through Android settings or uninstalling the App, subject to any operating-system backup or restoration features enabled by the user.
Reports or files that a user has previously exported from HealthTrace may exist outside the App. Deleting information from HealthTrace does not necessarily delete copies that were previously exported, printed, emailed, uploaded, backed up, or shared with another application or person.
Those copies must be deleted from their respective locations separately.
Because HealthTrace does not maintain a HealthTrace user account or central database of users' health journals, there is ordinarily no HealthTrace cloud health record for us to delete upon request.
Users may contact us using the privacy contact information above if they have questions about deletion.
HealthTrace recognizes that health information can be highly sensitive.
We use reasonable measures within the design and operation of the App to protect information under our control.
HealthTrace is designed to limit unnecessary transmission of user-entered health information by keeping core health records locally on the user's device.
However, no electronic storage system, mobile device, software application, or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are encouraged to maintain appropriate security on their devices, including device passwords, PINs, biometric security, operating-system updates, and other available security protections.
If a user exports health information, the security of that exported information may depend on where it is stored and the third-party services used to transmit or store it.
Android devices or other services configured by the user may provide device backup, restoration, transfer, or synchronization functionality.
Such functionality may be controlled by the operating system, device manufacturer, Google, or another service provider rather than HealthTrace.
Users should review their device and account backup settings if they do not want locally stored App information included in device-level backup or transfer processes.
HealthTrace is not directed toward children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly design HealthTrace for the purpose of collecting personal information from children under 13.
If we become aware that information has been collected in a manner inconsistent with applicable children's privacy laws, we will take appropriate action.
Parents and guardians should supervise minors' use of health applications where appropriate.
HealthTrace is provided for personal tracking, organization, and informational purposes.
HealthTrace does not practice medicine and does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, emergency monitoring, or professional healthcare services.
Information recorded, summarized, calculated, displayed, or exported by HealthTrace should not be considered a medical diagnosis or a substitute for the judgment of a qualified healthcare professional.
Users should consult an appropriate healthcare professional regarding medical symptoms, conditions, diagnoses, treatments, or healthcare decisions.
Do not delay seeking professional medical care because of information recorded or displayed by HealthTrace.
If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services or an appropriate healthcare provider immediately.
HealthTrace relies on information entered or recorded by users.
HealthTrace cannot guarantee that user-entered information, timestamps, calculations, summaries, reports, or device-generated information will always be complete or error-free.
Users should review information for accuracy before relying upon it or sharing it with healthcare professionals or other parties.
Where HealthTrace allows records to be edited, corrected, or supplemented, those functions are intended to help users maintain accurate personal records.
HealthTrace is a consumer health tracking application.
Using HealthTrace does not create a doctor-patient relationship or other healthcare-provider relationship between the user and HealthTrace.
Information stored in HealthTrace is not automatically transmitted to a user's doctor, hospital, clinic, insurer, attorney, employer, government agency, or other organization.
A user must intentionally choose to provide or export information to another person or organization unless otherwise clearly disclosed in the App.
HealthTrace should not be considered a substitute for an official medical record maintained by a healthcare provider.
HealthTrace is designed as a consumer-directed personal health tracking application and is not represented as a HIPAA-covered healthcare provider, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse.
The fact that information concerns a user's health does not, by itself, mean that HealthTrace or all information stored within it is governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”).
Healthcare providers or other organizations with whom users choose to share HealthTrace information may have their own obligations under HIPAA or other privacy laws.
We may disclose information that is actually in our possession if required to do so by applicable law, legal process, court order, or valid governmental request, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent fraud or abuse.
Because HealthTrace's core user-entered health information is designed to remain locally on the user's device, we generally do not possess copies of that locally stored health information.
HealthTrace may be available to users in different jurisdictions.
Privacy and data-protection rights vary by location.
Where applicable law provides users with specific rights regarding information processed by HealthTrace, we will honor those rights as required by law.
Third-party providers such as Google may process information in multiple countries in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable legal requirements.
HealthTrace may change over time.
New features, integrations, services, or technologies may affect how information is handled.
If HealthTrace introduces functionality that materially changes the collection, use, storage, or sharing of information, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
Where required by law or platform policy, additional notice or consent may be provided.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to HealthTrace, third-party services, legal requirements, Google Play requirements, or our privacy practices.
When this Privacy Policy is updated, the “Last Updated” date at the top of the policy will be revised.
Users are encouraged to periodically review the Privacy Policy.
Material changes may also be communicated within the App when appropriate or legally required.
HealthTrace's Google Play Data safety disclosures are intended to accurately reflect the App's actual data practices, including data handled through third-party SDKs.
Information that remains exclusively on a user's device and is not transmitted off the device may be treated differently from information collected by HealthTrace or third-party services under Google Play's Data safety definitions.
Advertising and related information processed through Google AdMob or the Google Mobile Ads SDK will be disclosed in the Google Play Data safety section as required by Google Play policies.
The Google Play Data safety section and this Privacy Policy should be read together.
