Do you need experienced legal representation to help you through your court case? It can be confusing to determine which lawyer to hire to best meet your needs. Keep reading to learn more about choosing the right lawyer and these tips will surely help you select the best one.

A good tip if youre looking to bring on a lawyer is to make sure you thoroughly investigate whether or not a certain lawyer will be a good fit. Its generally a good idea to go over a few different lawyers at a time and compare them to each other.

A good tip to keep in mind when hiring a lawyer is to be very wary of any lawyer who seems more interested in getting paid than winning your case. There are many unscrupulous lawyers out there who will try to get you to pay a contingency fee or even get you to mortgage your house.

If you go to see a lawyer for any legal reason and they tell you that your case will be simple you should not hire them. Most legal cases have a lot of things involved with them so it is not very likely that many cases can be that easy.

When you truly need a lawyer who specializes in a specific field choose one. While you may have a lawyer who you trust implicitly they may not know enough to truly handle your case in a manner which leads to a positive outcome. Ask that lawyer for who they might recommend instead.

Establish a budget before hiring a lawyer. It is important to consider what you could lose if you do not win before the case even gets filed in court. Thoroughly research all relevant lawyer fees. If they know your budget and your goals then they can better decide if they can help you with your legal issues. A clear understanding of the financial aspects of choosing a lawyer is important to your case.

If you are going through a divorce do not use the same lawyer that your estranged spouse is using. Many people use a familiar firm but that is a big conflict of interest when it is the same one used by your ex. Look around and try to find someone comparable.

Know just exactly how much opportunity cost you are giving up when choosing to go to court. Any case takes time and just how much time depends a lot on the ability of your lawyer. If you choose a young lawyer to save money you may find that the case takes many more weeks than if you had gone with someone more seasoned. Those weeks can be many hours of lost pay! Do your homework here and make sure the math works out for your choices.

If you have a court case that your general lawyer is not familiar with you probably need to hire a specialist. Although you may think that specialists are more expensive this isnt always the case. Also if your case involves a lot of money you want to help ensure you win. Having a lawyer who is not familiar with your particular litigation is going to be a major disadvantage for you. Instead hire a specialist who is used to dealing with your case.

You should have a better idea of how you can find a good lawyer now that you have been over this article. Remember these tips as you interview lawyers. This will allow you to locate and make a deal with the attorney thats right for you.

US Capitol: Police officer dies after car rams security barrier

An attack at the US Capitol complex in Washington DC has left one police officer dead and another in hospital with injuries.

A car crashed into a security barrier before the driver lunged towards the officers with a knife police said.

The officers opened fire and the suspect was shot dead.

Authorities said the attack which came three months after Januarys deadly Capitol riots did not appear to be terrorism-related.

"Whether the attack was at law enforcement or whoever we have a responsibility to get to the bottom of it and well do that" Robert Contee the acting chief of Washington DCs Metropolitan Police Department said at a news conference.

Acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman said it was "with a very very heavy heart that I announce one of our officers has succumbed to his injuries".

In a later statement she named the officer as William "Billy" Evans who had been a member of the Capitol Police for 18 years and was part of the departments first responders unit.

"Please keep Officer Evans and his family in your thoughts and prayers" she said.

Two law enforcement sources involved in the investigation told BBC partner CBS News that the suspect in the attack was 25-year-old Noah Green from Indiana.

They said that no prior information about him had been found on any police databases.

In a post from mid-March on a now-deleted Facebook page Green wrote that he had recently left his job "partly due to afflictions but ultimately in search of a spiritual journey". He added he had been suffering the "side effects of drugs I was intaking unknowingly" and wrote extensively of his interest in the black nationalist religious organisation Nation of Islam.

In a statement Facebook said it had designated the incident under its "Dangerous Individuals and Organizations policy" meaning the suspects Facebook and Instagram accounts were being removed as well as any content praising him.

An increased security presence remains around the Capitol building where the US Congress sits.

As Congress is not currently in session most politicians were not at the Capitol complex at the time of the attack.

What do we know about the attack?

Shortly after 13:00 local time (18:00 GMT) the Capitol Police alert system sent an email to lawmakers and their staff ordering them to stay away from exterior windows and doors due to a threat. Anyone outside was instructed to seek cover.

At that time a man driving a blue sedan had rammed the car into two officers standing at the North Barricade according to police.

He exited the vehicle and ran towards the officers - at least one of whom drew a weapon and shot the suspect. The officers were then transported to hospital one in an ambulance and one in a police cruiser.
