Effective date: October 5, 2026
App: PaperLens (Android, package com.mmb.paperlens)
Summary
PaperLens is a document scanner. Your scans, photos, PDFs and the text read from them stay on your phone. We do not run any server, there is no account and no sign-in, no advertising, and we do not sell or share your personal information.
Camera and photos
The camera is used only while you scan a document or a QR code. Photos and PDFs you pick are opened only to add them to a document. Scans are stored inside the app on your device and are never uploaded by us.
Reading text from scans (OCR)
Text recognition runs on your phone using Google ML Kit. Your images are not sent anywhere for this. Google ML Kit may send limited technical information to Google, such as the device model, app version and performance or error data, to keep the feature working and improve it. See https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms for details.
App lock
If you turn on the app lock, your PIN is stored only on your device. Fingerprint or face unlock is handled by Android; the app never sees your biometric data.
Sharing and exporting
PDF, Word, Excel, text and image files are created on your device and are shared only when you choose to share or save them.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
Deleting your data
Delete any document inside the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything it stored.
Changes
If the app changes, for example if paid features or advertising are added in a later version, this policy will be updated at this same address with a new effective date before that version is released.
