Paper Podium is a single-player doodle athletics game. This policy explains, in plain terms, what the app does and does not do with your information.
There is no account, no login and no chat. Your athlete, personal bests, coins and medals are stored only on your own device.
Two outside services are built into the app, and they receive some information about your device and how the game is used:
Google AdMob serves the one optional rewarded ad, and runs Google's consent form where the law requires one.
GameAnalytics receives anonymous gameplay statistics, such as how many players finish a tournament, so we can tell which parts of the game work and which don't.
We never sell your information. We never receive your name, your email or your contacts, because the game never asks for them.
The game saves the following in your device's local browser storage, inside the app. It stays on your phone and is not sent to us or to any service:
the athlete you created (name, country, and appearance)
your personal bests, best placings and career medals
your coin balance and stat upgrades
your settings
Your athlete's name is never sent anywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes all of this data. There is no backup and no way to recover it.
When the app starts, it uses Google's User Messaging Platform to check whether a consent form is required where you are. If one is required, the form is shown before any ad is requested. Ads and GameAnalytics do not start until that step is finished. Outside those regions no form is shown, and both start normally.
Paper Podium shows one kind of ad: a rewarded ad you choose to watch. It appears as a button on the results screen offering to double the coins you just earned. It never plays unless you tap it. There are no banner ads, no ads between screens, and no ads that interrupt play.
To keep that button honest, one ad is loaded in the background after the app starts, so there is something to show if you tap it. Loading the ad means contacting Google even if you never watch one.
Ads are served by Google AdMob. When an ad is loaded or shown, AdMob may collect and process:
your device's advertising identifier (a resettable ID, not your name)
device information such as model, operating system version and language
approximate location derived from your IP address
information about ad interactions, such as whether an ad was viewed
Google uses this to serve and measure ads, and to limit how often you see the same one. We do not receive or store any of it.

We use GameAnalytics to understand how the game is played as a whole. It tells us, for example, which events players pick, how far they get in a tournament, and whether new players finish creating their athlete.
The app sends GameAnalytics:
gameplay events: a tournament or daily challenge started, which athletics event it was, whether you reached the final, and your final placing
first-time steps: finishing the intro and creating your first athlete
rewarded-ad events: whether an ad was shown, completed or failed to show (not the ad's content)
session information: when a session starts and how long it lasts
The GameAnalytics software also collects, on its own:
device identifiers, which can include the advertising identifier, Google's app set ID and a random ID that GameAnalytics creates for the install
device information: model, manufacturer, operating system version and the app version
your IP address, which is used to work out your country
error reports if the app hits an error
We see this data only as totals and trends in the GameAnalytics dashboard. We do not link it to your name or to any other information about you. GameAnalytics says it does not sell personal data or use it for ad targeting.

Reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your phone). The game works exactly the same afterwards.
Play offline. The game is fully playable with no connection. Nothing is sent while you're offline, and the rewarded-ad button simply doesn't appear.
Uninstall the app to remove everything stored on your device.
Ask about or delete analytics data by emailing us at the address below, or GameAnalytics directly at privacy@gameanalytics.com.
Paper Podium is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. It contains no violence, no chat, no user-generated content and no in-app purchases.
The app requests:
Permission
Why
INTERNET
Used by the ads and analytics services described above. The game itself needs no connection.
AD_ID
Access to the advertising identifier, used by AdMob and GameAnalytics.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Lets the ads and analytics services check for a connection before sending anything.
The ads and analytics libraries also declare a few permissions of their own (WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE and Android's ACCESS_ADSERVICES_* entries). These come from those libraries, not from the game. None of them gives access to your files, camera, microphone, contacts or precise location.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
