PantriQa is a meal planning app that helps you decide what to cook using your own recipes. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and what we do (and do not) do with it.
The short version: PantriQa stores all your personal recipe data locally on your device. We use Firebase Analytics (by Google) to collect anonymous usage data to help us understand how the app is used and improve it. No personally identifiable information is collected by PantriQa.
PantriQa stores the following information only on your device, using your phone's local storage (Android SharedPreferences / iOS UserDefaults):
Recipes - names, ingredients, categories, cook times, and notes that you enter manually
Cooking history - dates when you marked a recipe as cooked
Weekly planner - meal assignments you create for each day of the week
Shopping list - items you add manually or import from the planner
App settings - your chosen language, theme and display preferences
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it using the app's built-in backup feature.
PantriQa uses Firebase Analytics (by Google) to collect anonymous data about how the app is used. This helps us understand which features are valuable and where to focus improvements.
We collect:
Which features are used (e.g. spin wheel, recipe add, shopping list sharing)
Which method users choose to add recipes (e.g. camera scan, URL import, manual entry)
How often features are used
App performance and crash data
Firebase Analytics data is shared with Google and used solely to improve the app. You can opt out by disabling Usage & Diagnostics in your Google account settings on your device.
PantriQa does not collect, transmit, or store:
Your name, email address, or any account information
Location data
Advertising IDs for advertising or profiling purposes
The content of your recipes, shopping lists, or planner
Any information about what specific recipes you cook
Photos or recipe images uploaded to external servers
There are no user accounts, no login, and no connection to any server operated by us.
PantriQa includes optional features that let you move data between devices:
Export / Import
You can export your recipes and planner data as a JSON file and save it to any location you choose - Google Drive, email, or local storage. This file is created on your device and shared using your phone's standard system share sheet. We do not have access to this file.
Shopping List Sharing
You can share your shopping list with another person by sending a JSON file via WhatsApp, email, or any messaging app. The recipient can import the list into their own copy of PantriQa. We do not have access to files shared this way.
You are responsible for the security of any backup files you create and where you store them.
PantriQa may request access to your device camera and photo library if you choose to use recipe scanning or recipe import from an image or screenshot.
This access is used only to allow you to:
Take a photo of a recipe
Select an existing recipe image or screenshot from your gallery
Extract recipe information directly on your device
Images are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.
PantriQa does not permanently store imported images unless you explicitly save them outside the app yourself.
PantriQa uses the following third-party services:
Firebase Analytics (Google)
Used to collect anonymous usage data as described above. Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Fonts
Used to display typography. Fonts are bundled with the app and loaded locally - no network requests are made.
Flutter
The open-source framework the app is built on (by Google). No data collection.
The app does not use advertising networks, social login, or OAuth providers.
PantriQa does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The anonymous analytics data we collect contains no personal information. However, the app is not specifically directed at children.
Your personal recipe data is stored only on your device. You can delete it at any time by using the "Clear All Data" option in Settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Firebase Analytics data is automatically deleted by Google after 90 days at the user level. You can request deletion of analytics data associated with your device through Google's account settings.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy - for example, if a future version of PantriQa introduces new features that affect data handling - we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to check back periodically.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or the app's data practices,
you can contact us at: ambientowlou@gmail.com
PantriQa is developed independently. This privacy policy applies to the PantriQa mobile application available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
