Usually, external solutes alter the local structural arrangement of the water hydrogen bond (H-bond) network. However, urea has a negligible effect on the local structure of water, irrespective of its concentration. The urea-water system was investigated extensively. Despite widespread exploration, our understanding of the precise molecular mechanisms underlying urea-induced protein denaturation remains limited. We aim to understand this problem in microscopic detail, with the help of  theoretical spectroscopy.
