At Hamdaan Studio, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information PanjSurah ("the App") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

The App does not require you to create an account and does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or payment details.

2.3 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data only on your device using Android SharedPreferences and in-memory storage. None of this data is transmitted to any server:

• App Preferences: Selected Arabic font, text size setting

• Reminder Settings: Whether daily reminder is enabled, the chosen reminder time (hour and minute)

• Bookmarks: Ayahs (Quran verses) and Duas you have bookmarked

• Tasbeeh Presets: Custom Tasbeeh phrases, counts, and colors you create

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above solely to provide the core features of the App:

• Local Preferences – Settings such as font, text size, and reminder time are stored locally to remember your preferences between app sessions.

• Notifications – If you grant notification permission, the App schedules a local device alarm (using Android `AlarmManager`) to fire at your chosen time. No push notification server is involved; no data leaves your device.

• Vibration – The device vibrator is activated briefly when a reminder notification fires. No data is collected.

4. Permissions Requested

The App requests the following Android permissions:

`POST_NOTIFICATIONS` Required on Android 13+ to display daily reminder notifications 

 `RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED` Android's `AlarmManager` alarms are erased when a device is powered off. This permission allows the App to listen for the device boot-completed broadcast so it can automatically re-register the user's daily reminder alarm after a reboot — without requiring any action from the user. No data is collected or transmitted during this process.
`USE_EXACT_ALARM` Used on Android 13+ devices. This is a normal permission automatically granted by the system — no user approval is required. It allows the App to schedule the user's daily reminder to fire at the exact time they chose. Without it, Android may delay the notification by up to 15 minutes or more. 

`SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM` *(Android 12 only)* Required on Android 12 devices only (not needed on Android 13+). Allows the daily reminder to fire at the user's chosen exact time. On Android 12 devices, the user may be prompted to grant this permission under Settings > Special App Access > Alarms & Reminders. Without it, the reminder may be delayed.

None of these permissions are used for advertising, tracking, or any purpose beyond what is stated above.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties.

We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Mixpanel) or advertising SDKs (e.g., AdMob, Meta Audience Network) in this App.

We may disclose information only if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party services that collect user data. All content (Quranic verses, Duas, Tasbeeh) is bundled within the App and accessed fully offline.

The App does not require an internet connection to function.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for all ages, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or any users. There are no in-app purchases, registration forms, chat features, or social features.

In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy, the App:

• Does not collect personal data from any user

• Does not display behavioural advertising

• Does not link to external websites

• Does not include social features

8. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device and no data is transmitted to our servers, the security of your information depends on your device's own security (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device and Android OS up to date.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

All App data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all App data at any time by:

• 1. Going to "Settings → Apps → PanjSurah (Five Surah)" on your Android device

• 2. Tapping "Clear Data"  or  "Clear Storage"

Alternatively, uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data permanently.

10. Notifications

If you enable the Daily Reminder feature:

• A local alarm is scheduled using Android's `AlarmManager` at your chosen time (default: 2:00 PM)

• The App uses `setExactAndAllowWhileIdle()` to deliver the reminder at your exact chosen time, even when the device is in battery-saving (Doze) mode

• On Android 13+ devices this works automatically. On Android 12 devices, the user may be prompted once to grant "Alarms & Reminders" permission in Settings for exact-time delivery

• At alarm time, the App displays a local notification on your device

• The App triggers a brief vibration pattern alongside the notification

• No data is sent to any server — this is entirely a local device function

• After a device reboot: Android automatically cancels all scheduled `AlarmManager` alarms when the device is powered off or restarted. The App uses the `RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED` broadcast to detect when the device has finished restarting and immediately re-registers your daily reminder alarm locally on the device — no user action is needed and no data leaves the device

• You can disable notifications at any time from Settings → Notifications → PanjSurah on your device, or by toggling the "Daily Reminder" switch inside the App's Settings screen

11. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Right to Access: Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to access from us.

• Right to Deletion: You can delete all locally stored App data as described in Section 9.

• Right to Opt-Out: You can revoke notification permission at any time via your device settings.

• GDPR (EU Users): As we do not collect or process personal data, GDPR requirements for data controllers do not apply to this App.

• CCPA (California Users): We do not sell personal information. California residents have the right to know we collect no personal data.

12. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after any updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

We recommend reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically.

13. Google Play Store Compliance

This App complies with Google Play Developer Policies including:

• Data Safety Section: The App declares no data collected or shared with third parties

• Permissions Policy: All permissions requested are necessary for core App functionality

• Families Policy: The App does not target children specifically but is safe for all ages

• Malware Policy: The App contains no malicious code, adware, spyware, or unauthorized data collection

• User Data Policy: No user data is collected, stored externally, or shared
