Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Panda: Screen & Sleep Tracker (the "Application"), an ad-supported utility application built as an individual/indie developer project, collects, uses, shares, and protects your information. By installing and using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information Collection and Use
Data You Provide Directly
The Application is designed to be used without requiring a user account, registration, or login. We do not directly request, collect, or store personal details such as your name, email address, physical address, phone number, or contacts.
Local Storage
To function properly as a screen and sleep tracker, the Application stores your logging data, tracking configurations, and app settings directly on your device using local storage systems (such as SQLite databases or shared preferences). This data remains offline on your device unless explicitly backed up or exported by you.
Information Collected Automatically via Third-Party SDKs
To sustain the Application as a free service, we integrate the Google AdMob SDK to display advertisements. AdMob automatically collects certain metrics from your device, which may be legally classified as personal information under regional privacy laws. This includes:
Approximate Location: Derived from your IP address to serve localized, relevant, and language-appropriate advertisements. Precise GPS tracking is not used.
Device and Other IDs: The Android Advertising ID (AD_ID) is collected to handle personalized advertising, limit the number of times you see the same ad (frequency capping), and track ad campaign performance.
App Interactions: Telemetry regarding how you interact with the app and displayed advertisements (e.g., ad clicks, views, or completion of rewarded video ads to unlock premium tiers).
Performance Diagnostics: Crash logs, hang rates, and technical stability indicators are collected to monitor performance and debug SDK or app errors.
2. Data Sharing and Third-Party Processors
We do not sell your personal data. However, automated tracking data is shared with third-party service providers to facilitate core app features:
Advertising and Marketing
We partner with Google AdMob to display ad content. AdMob utilizes your device identifiers and approximate location data to optimize ad placement, perform ad frequency capping, combat click fraud, and engage in ad retargeting (remarketing based on previous web behavior or device activities).
Analytics
Built-in telemetry from the Google Mobile Ads SDK transmits session and performance statistics to Google’s analytics infrastructure. This analytical data is used solely to evaluate monetization metrics, calculate ad earnings, and monitor overall app performance.
Payments and In-App Purchases
The Application offers premium features accessible via in-app purchases. All transactions are securely processed directly by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, view, or store your credit card digits, bank account information, or billing credentials. All payment processing is strictly governed by Google Play’s separate Privacy Policy.
3. Legal Compliance and Global User Rights
California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) Compliance
In accordance with CalOPPA, we maintain an up-to-date effective date at the top of this policy. Please note that the Application does not currently alter its behavior or respond to web browser "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals, as tracking is managed at the device operating system level via your Google Privacy Settings.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Compliance
California residents possess the right to know what personal information is collected, request its deletion, and opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their information. Because the transmission of tracking identifiers to ad networks can be construed as "sharing" under the CCPA, you may exercise your right to opt-out of personalized tracking at any time through your Android device settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads > Reset or Delete Advertising ID).
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Compliance
For users residing within the European Economic Area (EEA), we process data relying on legitimate business interests (delivering essential advertising to maintain a free app) and explicit user consent where requested by the ad SDK. You retain the right to access, rectify, or restrict the processing of your data, or withdraw consent for personalized ads directly via the in-app privacy consent dialog provided by Google AdMob.
4. Children’s Privacy
The Application does not knowingly collect or target personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 within the EU). If we discover that a child has inadvertently provided personal tracking data, we will take immediate steps to remove it from our internal registers and third-party ad networks.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be made public by updating the text on this page and revising the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any updates.
6. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your data safety, please contact the developer directly using the developer support email provided on our Google Play Store listing page.
