Project: Synthesis and Characterization of Piezoelectric Polymer Nanocomposite
I synthesized piezoelectric ZnSnO3 nanocubes through the aqueous solution method. A polymer nanocomposite sheet with ZnSnO3 nanoparticles embedded in the PVC polymer was synthesized by the solution casting method. The piezoelectric nanogenerator (PENG) was fabricated by making top and bottom electrodes with silver paste. The piezoelectric application was then checked by applying pressure through direct hitting with the hand. The PENG shows a maximum open circuit voltage V OC of ∼5 V and a short circuit current 193 nA at 5 wt % loading of ZnSnO3 without poling treatment. Also, the nanogenerator could charge a commercial capacitor (1 μF) to ∼0.26 V in ∼30 seconds.
