Caring for your succulents is not hard! They do require plenty of SUNLIGHT, AIR, WIND, and ADEQUATE WATER.
New Orleans has beautiful humid weather. As a result of the humidity in the air, we advise that all succulents planted in soil should be housed outside where they can breathe. Unless your home has plenty of fresh air being supplied we think succulents thrive better outside. Our succulent bouquets will do fine inside with access to fresh air and water they can thrive indoors or outdoors. With care and a little attention, your succulent garden will flourish and grow.

Your clippings are ready for their new home. So it is important to pick the right soil and container for them and place them in a sunny place that is comfortable for them. Luckily succulents are resilient and don't die easily. Some can live for a year without water or dirt!
Once you have picked a container that has drainage holes you can fill it up with soil that is mixed with sand and perlite to allow optimum drainage. Succulents that live in soil, like it dry. They can die if the soil does not allow the water to drain. Due to New Orleans humidity and heat, it is very likely your succulents will suffocate if the soil is too compact. Just as important is having soil that is too loose, because it will be hard for the roots to get settled.
Clip the ends of your succulent, and poke a hole in the dirt. Secure your succulent in the hole gently and make sure it is stable and not falling over.
Place succulent outside in a place that get a lot of sun but has a bit of shade too. Porches are great places for succulents. Water the next day.
Succulents really love water! They store water in their leaves which makes them look so fat and squishy. Succulent Vases are one of the simplest when it comes to maintenance because you don't have the mess of soil and bugs attacking your plant. It takes the guesswork out of when to water because your succulents take all the water they need when they need it and do not have to rely on you if they are thirsty. We feel that our succulents are often happier in water than they are in dirt.
It is important to water them to make sure all the roots are touching or emerged in water, but that the water is not over flowing and causing the petals of the succulents to be sitting in the water.
Choosing a spot that gets plenty of sunlight and air is essential for the wellbeing of your succulents. They will thrive indoors but do benefit from direct sunlight, which causes the colors of your succulents to change, and the interaction of insects like bees can promote new interesting growth. We encourage that once a week, the vase in place outside for a day.
Cleaning your succulent vase can be tricky. It will require removing of some succulents and other vases you just need to lift the top up.
Drain the water slowly and clean with non toxic cleaning soap. Gently rinse and fill back up carefully. Place the top back on.
