At "Ode," we believe in the power of memory and identity. Our brand was founded to reflect the values and principles we hold as Palestinians, embodied in the word "عودة" (Ode), which symbolizes the Right of Return. This word carries the dream of millions of Palestinians in the diaspora who yearn to return to their homeland and reclaim their rightful place.
"Ode" was created to be a voice for Palestinian identity, to express the heritage and stories that remain alive in our hearts. Through our products, we aim to raise awareness of our cause and reinforce the Right of Return as an integral part of the Palestinian struggle.
We take pride in our roots, and we work every day to bring you products that reflect this spirit and stay connected to our rich history. Each piece from "Ode" tells a story—a story of a people who continue to hold the dream of return in their hearts.
The Palestinian Right of Return is a legal and political principle that asserts the right of Palestinian refugees, who were displaced or forced to leave their homes during the Nakba in 1948 and afterward, to return to their original homes in historic Palestine. This right includes the return of the refugees and their descendants to the places they lived before being displaced and the restoration of their properties or receiving compensation.
This right is based on United Nations resolutions, most notably Resolution 194, issued in December 1948, which states in paragraph 11 that "refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbors should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date," and that "compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return and for loss of or damage to property."
The Right of Return is one of the central issues in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and remains a fundamental demand of Palestinians in any final political settlement.
