Dr Linda Armbrecht
I specialise in marine sedimentary ancient DNA (sedaDNA), and investigate how modern phytoplankton evolved from ancient forms in concert with past environmental changes. I maintain a broad, interdisciplinary background in marine science, having trained extensively in biological oceanography, micropaleontology, biostratigraphy and ancient DNA. I am particularly passionate about ship work at high latitudes and exploring seafloor sediment records. Learning new techniques and integrating new perspectives continues to drive my research.
