ELIGIBILITY
The art competition revolving around the theme of "Pangarap Noon, Kultura Ngayon" is open to all Filipino painting enthusiasts and professional visual artists alike residing in the Philippines, 18 years old ( as of November 20, 2020) and above.
The following are not eligible to join the competition: the Executive Council, family members and constituents of Barangay Santolan (Pasig City), and Officers, club members and families of Pasig Art Club, Inc.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
Participants are allowed to submit only one (1) entry. Entrants found to have submitted multiple entries will be disqualified.
All entries must be an original artwork, wholly conceptualized and executed by the participating artist. Entries which are copied from works of other artists will automatically be disqualified even if rendered in different style, medium, color scheme, or even if other elements have been added.
Entries which had already been submitted to other local and international art competitions, or exhibited in both selling and non-selling solo and group exhibitions prior to and during the duration of the contest and other similar shows are not qualified.
Actual names of entrants will not be posted on any of the local government’s media channels. Entrants are expected to comply by not posting or sharing their entry on social media or on other media channels that will identify them as the artists who created the works. The identity of the entrant will remain anonymous up until the official announcement in the Awarding Ceremony.
Artwork Specifications:
Category: Painting (Open-style Representational)
Size: 3 feet by 4 feet (3ft x 4ft) in either horizontal/landscape or vertical/portrait orientation
Medium:
Oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, or watercolor on paper.
Oil or acrylic on canvas entries : must either be single stretch canvas (framed) or museum/gallery wrapped (unframed).
Watercolor entries must have protective glass with 1.5 to 2.0 inches frame.
All entries must have hanging provisions.

SUBMISSION AND HOW TO ENTER
Guidelines
Photograph of the entry must be of the final artwork. Do not physically alter or revise artwork after it has been submitted electronically. Alterations, additions or modifications will disqualify an entry.
Do not digitally alter the photograph using Photoshop or any other image editing/enhancing software. Any alteration automatically disqualifies the entry.
The Contest Secretariat will not accept submission requirements submitted through a link provided by a third-party file transfer/hosting service e.g. Google Drive, WeTransfer, Dropbox, MediaFire, icloud etc. Requirements must be attached in the e-mail and not embedded in the e-mail body.
Successful submission of the Entry Form and the electronic submission of requirements are considered as the official acceptance into the contest.
It is the responsibility of the artist to ensure the veracity of all information stated in the entry form as well as the completeness of all required documents. Incomplete documents and false information may and will result in the disqualification of an entry.
The entrant must read rules and regulations completely and carefully. Due to the volume of inquiries and entries, the Contest Secretariat may or may not reply or confirm receipt in a timely manner.
PHASE 1 - SUBMISSION OF DIGITAL PHOTOS
STEP 1:
Fill up the Registration Form
STEP 2:
Follow digital submission requirements
Take high resolution photos and turn them into digital file. Make your works JPEG files, color mode should be RGB. The resolution should be within 2,000 pixels
Do not send more than one e-mail
Rename your file: First name_Last name_number.jpg (ex. andy_warhol_1.jpg)
Check validity of all data provided in the entry form
STEP 3:
Submit Entry with the following documents to pakalog.info@gmail.com
Use Email Subject: First name_Last name Pakalog Entry (ex. Subject: Juan_DelaCruz Pakalog Entry)
Duly accomplished Registration Form
Digital photo of painting
Notarized Affidavit of original design
One (1) - 2x2 colored photo
Curriculum vitae and portfolio
Copy of two (2) valid government issued IDs
PHASE 2 - SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES BY THE FINALISTS
STEP 1:
Entrants whose entries are qualified as semi-finalists will be contacted by the Pakalog Festival National Painting Contest Secretariat via email regarding the submission of the actual artwork. It is therefore the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that the e-mail address and contact number they have provided are correct and valid/active.
STEP 2:
Artworks must be fully dry; pieces with wet paint will not be accepted.
STEP 3:
Semi-finalists are requested to submit their actual framed artworks (Please refer to Artwork Specifications for frame guidelines). Below are the details of submission.
