I was just at the Sherwin-Williams store today asking about painting mobile homes. Very slow day as Ike laid waste to just about every transformer for many miles around so the manager had lots of time to talk. This is what he said:

Painting the cannon hasn't always gone as planned. Last year the Pride painted cannon got defaced. Also, back in 2016 a Mobile Police officer started pepper spraying McGill students who were painting the cannon.

According to a city representative the decision to move away from permitting the painting of the canon was not related to the rainbow being defaced, or the pepper spray incident. They say it wasn't in response to any particular organization or request.

"I think it's not right. I mean we've been painting the cannon, and everybody gets their shot at it," said IAIN Perkins, a junior at McGill Toolin, "But also other really good causes have painted the cannon which raises awareness and is a good thing generally for the community."

Mobile painting parties are fun, energetic and memorable experiences that your friends, family or team won't be able to stop talking about. Absolutely no art experience is needed. Professional local artists give step-by-step instructions, so every guest has a good time and gets a beautiful finished product.

We've hosted mobile events of all sizes and in all kinds of different places. Because every place is unique, there are a few details we'll want to know about ahead of time. These include the location of the nearest water source for setup and cleanup, and the location of electrical outlets for our sound system. Other items that should come with the venue are tables, chairs and garbage receptacles.

Plan for 1.5 hours of setup time before painting, and 1.5 hours of cleanup time after painting. We do not provide food and drinks, but ask us about our catering partners! We just might be able to work something out for you.

I have this painting app and although it works on desktop browsers, it does not work on mobile devices. I added event listeners for mobile events, that mobile devices understand, but nothing happened. Any ideas of how I can resolve this issue?

No expert here, but by adding a console.table(event) statement inside startDrawing we can see (using browser Dev Tools) that in desktop mode a MouseEvent object is received, while in mobile mode a TouchEvent is received, and the latter does not have offsetX/offsetY properties.

Enne on May 26, 2015 @NissiNis If the surface is uneven, lightly sand 1st, if not you could do a quick wipe (not soaking wet) with liquid sandpaper, prime (with a high adhesion primer, 2 coats if necessary) and then paint, with a HD foam roller or brush to avoid streaks. 1 marked as helpful  NissiNis on May 26, 2015 @B. Enne on May 31, 2015 @NissiNis A lot of people on here refer to paper, especially in motor homes...I'm not sure what that is exactly. Mine are called "Thermofoil." They were warrantied for 5 years, on the 6th they started releasing in the middle panel. At least the panel was carved into the MDF, apparently the profile of some is in the vinyl only.I was told to have them rewrapped and to not attempt to paint them, by many painting and kitchen cabinet stores. I figured if I did that, I would have the same problem again in a few years. Sometimes it is worth the risk. 1 marked as helpful     NissiNis on May 31, 2015 we ended up doing 2 coats of Zinnser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 primer and then 2 coats of semi-gloss Behr paint. we used the same on the doors (pantry) trim and baseboards, painted a lighter neutral in satin on the walls and the kitchen is gorgeous! it has been suggested that we use a clear coat on the cabinets to keep them looking this good for years to come.so i'm looking into that now but deff DON'T want a shiny wet look so will have to take that into consideration. Pics to come soon 1 marked as helpful Reply   NissiNis on Jun 02, 2015 We

You may have to reshape with bondo to add material to the inswollen areas drywall compound is not made to be bused in this manner if any more than the thinnest skin coat is required the drywall mud will eventually crack and release and fall off of non wood cabinets plus the movement of cabinet doors and drawers would accept this process you would have to use plaster (veneer)to have hope of success it again you would run into same eventual result bondo is made to bond permanently to non ports or smooth surfaces and is sandabe if you really handy you can even use it to simulate the fake router marks on the edges like when corners have crumbled the glue or mud trick only works on flat facings anything with routed (simulated )edges would have to be mathched as closely as possible to look like anything less than horrible...go with bondo Helpful     Mary Higgins on Sep 18, 2015 what colors did you use? I love the cabinet color. I would love to know what it is as we are painting our mobile home as well. Helpful Reply   Sheryll S on Sep 19, 2015 Is this smooth, the surface I mean?? Cause I had to spackle in a rental condo.... well I did it, I guess I did not 'have to' do it. it was a first for me, but I got it smooth, then painted it, the landlord loved me. 1 marked as helpful Reply B. Enne on Sep 19, 2015 @Sheryll S mine were...as smooth as MDF you buy in a hardware store. On the top of the frame on 1 door it was very slightly rougher, and I gave it a 2 second sand. Helpful     Sheryll S on Sep 20, 2015 Oh I forgot to tell you, that I tried to sand a corner of my parents cabinets that were not real wood and it did not go well, so I put some mud or spackling on that corner and got it smooth, but you need to just wipe on some liquid sand paper first over all and then spackel and I used Kilz Original on the cabinets and walls and part of the ceiling and when I ran out I got a gallon of Behrs and I could tell a big difference in coverage with the Behrs not being as good. I was covering all white walls and ceiling, but my dad had put that high gloss on both and it was awful. I recommend to not use much shine cause it shows every little flaw. I would use semi gloss on the cabinets and no shinier than satin on the walls. But you did not ask about that...... sorry. It was a big job for me by myself to do that kitchen, so I still get a bit carried away talking about it. And it came out just gorgous too. This was years ago and paint changes through the years too. I also love the look, great job on the cabinets. I how ever have a medicine cabinet in the bathroom also partical board witch the paper started wearing threw. We have an odd shaped on and would have to have a new one custom made. First I tried applying contact paper but it wouldn't stick , only to pull more of the original paper off. I used a butter knife and sand paper and striped it bare. But now I'm not sure what would work best on it? Would stain work.? Or would painting be my best bet? All the wood trim is oak. Any suggestions would be great.....

My cabinets have a contact paper like coating with an accent strip that appears to be formica or similar countertop material. My question is what should I use to fill on the gap created by the accent strip? It is recessed to be flush with door sirface but has a groove on both sides of ot and taping doesnt work as Im painting the accent strip a different color. Wood putty?

Gina, new at mobile home living, ours is relatively new and in good shape. I just want to lighten up a couple of very dark brown accent walls. Do I need to do anything besides a couple coats of the primer/paint?

Hi Gina,

I too live in a double wide mobile and want to paint the walls. In a post you said you left the strips up, but does the glidden paint cover the black stripes on the paneling or do I have to fill them all in, which would take forever. Thanks for your suggestions.

I am interested in purchasing a mobile home but can not stand the typical dark brown cupboard s and countertops. I would like to have a light grey Formica cupboards and granite countertops. Can the cupboard doors be easily replaced with a more updated stylish colors and design? Would like some feed back. Thanks.

Plan to attempt painting my vinyl walls in the kitchen and breakfast room but my cabinets need some help also. Do you have any suggestions for painting the cabinets that come in mobile homes? They have a faux wood grain and for most part look great but the area around the knobs have been worn off with a paper look showing. Would like to paint a cream color but afraid they will peel. Help please! PS considered the Transformation cabinet and counter products but not sure it would work on my cabinets. Has anyone tried this?

My kitchen and living room share one long wall and on the other side of the room the living room continues down the hall. I have removed the strip. A lot of work, but well worth it. I painted the living room and kitchen all one color several years ago, but now it needs to be redone. I want the area to look bigger and be warm and relaxing. I was thinking of painting the end kitchen wall and long wall connecting the two rooms one color. Then painting the living room end wall and long living room and hall wall a complimentary color, maybe a monochrome. I am not sure how that would make the rooms feel. Will I get the larger, warm feel I am looking for? e24fc04721
