Scratch

A scratch on a pictorial surface is a type of physical damage caused by the contact of a sharp instrument or object with the painting. This impact leads to the removal or displacement of material from the pictorial layer, potentially affecting the support, ground, or paint layer. Scratches can vary in depth and size depending on the force applied and the hardness of the object causing them.
