PHS Pirate Orchestra Supply List for Beginning Orchestra- 2025-26

Bring your instrument on the third day of school. If you do not have one, and this is your first year in orchestra, you will begin by filling out the appropriate forms to receive an instrument and following the modules appropriate to follow in the class to get caught up to the other students. Please let Mr. Parker know immediately if you do not have an instrument- parkerc@gcsnc.com.
Bring a pencil please. You will receive from the orchestra director a music folder with music and the first day contract to be signed by your parents.
We are using the ORANGE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS BOOK 1 AND PURPLE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS BOOK 2 this year. We will use these for our "pass-off" playing tests. It can be purchased at any local music store (or Amazon). Please make sure you are getting the correct book for the instrument that you will play. There is an example picture of the book below.
Do you have a stand at home? I HIGHLY recommend having a folding stand at home so you can practice with the best posture possible!!!
Make sure you have rosin and extra strings for your instrument in case one breaks!

It can be purchased at any local music store (or Amazon). Please make sure you are getting the correct book for the instrument that you will play. There is an example picture of the book below.
