Paediatric Post-mortem Imaging

Welcome

Thank you for visiting this page - a website dedicated to the training and education of paediatric post-mortem imaging techniques.

We have created a library of useful resources aimed at paediatric radiologists and pathologists interested in learning more about non-invasive autopsy techniques, in particular how to interpret post-mortem cross sectional imaging (CT and MRI) and learning how this can help in the investigation of childhood deaths.

What are the current issues and indications for post-mortem imaging?

Post-mortem imaging for children is still not widely available and many clinicans and radiologists have limited understanding of what imaging should be done, can be done and what the latest issues in this field include. We provide some interesting reading below.

In 2015 a special issue was published in the journal Pediatric Radiology on topics relating to the use of paediatric post-mortem imaging (April, Vol 45, Issue 4, 2015).

Papers relating to starting a service, training and barriers to adoption were discussed by many international experts.
