PADSAD means ECHO, sound response. Hearing impaired people are deprived of this sense. Hence they can’t speak too and become mute.
The “PADSAD KARNABADHIR VIDYALAYA “ was established in July 1991 to identify & rehabilitate mute students from economically backward domain . It was observed that many a times students have multiple disorder.
To cater broader perspective and to support & make students self dependent , trust named “ PADSAD APANG UPCHAR & PUNARVASAN KENDRA “ was founded in 1994. The parent body is registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act & with the Commissioner , Social Welfare Department of Maharashtra State (4216/AV/VANM/School-Workshop/96-97 dated 29.3.1997)

Founder
Padsad Trust
ABOUT FOUNDER
Sucheta Tai founded Padsad Apang Upchar and Punarvasan Kendra in Cidco Nashik. Sucheta Tai has selflessly served Padsad since 1991. She was born in Pune and worked for the Spastic Society Pune for a few years in her early career. She moved to Nasik after her marriage and founded Padsad, her brainchild. She is happily married to Mr.Sunil Saundankar, the Padsad Trust's rock. Sucheta tai has taught over 500 hearing impaired students, and approximately 350 of them are now self-sufficient.
She founded the school in 1991 with two female students, and today, approximately 108 students attend Padsad. Because of her efforts, the school has received numerous awards, including the Karyagaurav Puraskar, the C-News award, the Best Special Teacher award of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, and many others. She has also written numerous research papers and received the best research paper award at the National Deaf Convention in Shilong. Her numerous articles have appeared in journals and newspapers.
Sucheta Tai's education concept is very simple: free education and quality education. All of the students at Padsad come from low-income families, and Sucheta Tai continues to conduct surveys in slum areas and enroll students who are deaf. Her son, Dr. Shantanu (Audiologist), collaborates closely with her in the screening and diagnosis of children with hearing impairment. Padsad's initiative allows him to screen high-risk neonates 72 hours after birth.
Sucheta Tai is deeply involved in the progression of Padsad, and her large Padsad family of about 200 people has still been engaged. She is constantly striving to improve the quality of life for children who are deaf or hard of hearing by the use of amplification devices and quality service. Empowering students with special needs means empowering our country. She always encourages everyone to be a part of the Padsad family and its service activities.
