Synopsis: XIX follows the journey of a chronological timeline of curated events from the ensemble during these unprecedented times. Even in the midst of a global pandemic, is there still any good or hope left for us? The journey starts on March 13th, 2020 when local schools in Northern California start to go on lockdown after the entire state declares a mandatory shelter-in-place. What is to come next, no one could ever have been prepared for or imagined. As the piece opens up, we are faced head on with the rampant xenophobia and blatant acceptance of racism and hate against the Asian and Asian American communities. 2020 has proven to be a year of loss and senseless killings at the hands of police brutality as well as citizens taking the law into their own hands. With so much loss, is there any room for positivity or hope? Stay till the end of this piece to find out what this ensemble believes in, stands for, or hopes for.
