What is a producer?

A producer is a person who sources talent from various people or entities. They are the ones who accomodate, organize the studio time, acknowledge what the mass population wants to hear and advises the artist and the music engineer. He is the one that explain if your music sounds good or sounds like madness. He has the authority to throw you out and try another artist, he is the one that is advising you in the studio how to sound and he can say to you to do it again if it doesn't appropriate. He is not the one making the music that is the music engineer and the artist but he is the one who wants success of the track and he is the one who can say to you if its not sounding appropriate to him, do it over. He is usually the star of the show in the music making process because he is the one listening for mistakes, he is listening to make sure you are radio or publishing ready and he is the one in music, is also the publisher. He is the one who gets the music on the radio, gets the music video seen by the masses and into the stores. In most circumstances he is the person who also helps the artists get signed to major record labels also. The main man making music is the music engineer and most rights/ copyright and sales go to the music engineer, in some cases when he hires a producer because he does not have the time or study that side of the music business, he allows them to take the role as the star of the show.

Why do you need a producer?

I know that everyone these days are going indie, but a producer is the one that can organize some fast cash at your disposal as long as you are obedient. Stop confusing a manager and a producer. The manager at most times organizes tours and stage shows, but a producer can organize a record deal. He can take a percent if your are successful. The reason why people are still reliant on record labels is for one word "advance." Yes I agree to some they can go indie, sell the music on their own but it takes time , what if your music doesn't sell, or what if you have to go through what the label like Packa Beatz has to go throw with sick thieves trespassers etc, stealing your sales and making your executive sleep the streets until the culprit is executed, and the executive making back the label the stature that is once had. Would you like to go through all that in life? Life is short, Jacob Winston Foster is immortal, life is something you should try to enjoy, because your only here for a short space of time before your judged by your maker. Human beings are shit. Melanin has fecal matter. Humans are shit covered with shit, so when you do things on your own, expect another human being to bring you down. Expect another human being to make you suffer. When you have a producer and he organizes a record deal for you, sometimes you haven't gotten a track published but with the talent you have, he organizes $1000,000 straight to your bank account, on the premise 10 albums must be completed in 10 years and you get 10 percent of the sales too after the sales match exact $1000,000. Straight to your bank account and all you have to do is concentrate on music, bills paid for, address paid for, car paid for etc. That is why most artists sign to a record label.
