Adventure awaits! Cub Scouts Pack 914 is in the West Park District of the Circle Ten Council of Scouting America (previously Boy Scouts of America) and is supported by our Charter Organization, St. Luke Community United Methodist Church. We have been proudly serving a diverse community of youth and families from public, private, and homeschools across East Dallas and the DFW Metroplex since 1996.
Pack 914 welcomes GIRLS & BOYS ages Kindergarten - 5th grade. We offer year-round enrollment, adventures, and fun that ignite your child's potential through character-building, activities, and lasting friendship.
Over the years our Pack has provided an inclusive and comprehensive Cub Scout program that teaches the basics of leadership, teamwork, and exploring new challenges under trained volunteer leaders.
Pack 914 partners with Boys Troop 914, which has guided 54 youth to achieve Eagle Scout Rank, the highest rank in Scouting America.
In today's world, Cub Scouts remains relevant by providing a structured and fun environment for children to learn important life skills, build self-confidence, and develop lasting friendships. The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make moral and ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
Cub Scouts is a nationwide youth program carried out locally for elementary children. The program builds character, encourages mental and physical fitness, and teaches cooperation, responsibility, working together, and community service. Girls and boys start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. Cub Scouts is affordable, hands-on, and fun, putting kids in the middle of the action while preparing them for today—and for life.

Our Pack follows the Guide to Safe Scouting, Scouting America's comprehensive policies and procedures, which outline age-appropriate activities, camping guidelines, and supervision standards so families can feel confident that every event is safe and fun.
We also uphold Youth Protection, Scouting America's measures and practices designed to safeguard youth from harm, abuse, and exploitation, while ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Youth Protection volunteers and professionals work within Scouting America to maintain a culture of awareness and safety at the national, territory, council, district, and unit levels.

Meetings are held twice a month on Monday evenings for one hour from September through May. They feature interactive activities for elementary children designed to be fun while teaching perseverance, problem-solving skills, and the Cub Scout Motto—"Do Your Best".
Throughout the year we offer opportunities for youth and families to participate in outdoor activities, service projects, hiking, fishing, fundraisers, outings, camping, Pinewood Derby, and summer camps.
Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family! There is a place for every parent and caregiver who wants to participate. Getting everyone involved makes Scouting more meaningful for your child and your entire family. Our goal is that you enjoy Scouting as much as your child.

Is Cub Scouts just for boys?
No, Cub Scouts is open to girls and boys, as are all Scouting America programs (previously Boy Scouts of America).
Do we have to attend a certain school, church, or live in the East Dallas area to join Pack 914?
No, Pack 914 welcomes a diverse community of youth and families from public, private, and homeschools across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
Does my child have to attend all Cub Scout meetings and activities?
Perfect attendance is not required, though attending meetings helps complete achievements and build friendships. Many activities can also be made up at home.
I have younger children who aren't Cub Scout age—can they attend events?
Most events are family-friendly, though some District or Council level events may have minimum age requirements.
How does Cub Scouts compare to other extracurricular activities?
Unlike single-focus activities, Cub Scouts lets kids explore outdoor skills, STEM, arts, community service, and leadership. Scouts gain confidence and friendships while learning teamwork and having fun. With family involvement and a structured advancement program, Cub Scouts helps children build character, practical skills, and a lasting sense of accomplishment.
Does Cub Scouts conflict with other extracurricular activities?
Not usually. Many Scouts also participate in sports, music, arts, and other programs. Since Cub Scouts is flexible—two Monday evenings per month and occasional weekend events—it's easy to balance with other activities.
Does my child need to be registered or have a uniform in order to visit Cub Scouts?
No, youth and families are welcome to check out Pack 914 at any time without being registered and without a uniform. For overnight camping, all youth and adults in attendance must be registered.
How much does Cub Scouts cost?
Compared to sports and other activities, Cub Scouts provides great value. Pack 914 works to keep costs affordable: the main expenses are the uniform and annual registration fee. We ask that all families participate in fundraisers, which help cover program costs for all of our Cub Scouts.
Note: No youth will be denied participation due to financial circumstances. To request financial assistance, please speak with a leader or contact us via call, text, or email.
What happens after Cub Scouts?
A Cub Scout who completes 5th grade (or turns 11) can continue their adventure in a Scouts BSA Troop (previously Boy Scouts). Scouts BSA is for young women and young men ages 11-17 and offers more independence, outdoor skills, leadership opportunities, and the chance to work toward Eagle Scout.
