All members where the U.S. Flag Emblem on the right sleeve in position 1. New uniforms have this emblem already sewn in the correct position. The U.S. Flag Code allows the BSA to continue to wear the flag in the traditional orientation of the field of stars to the left.
The council shoulder patch (known as the CSP) is an arc-shaped patch worn at the top of the left sleeve that identifies the local council. Pack 4083's local council is the Great Trail Council.
The unit numerals are made up of two separate patches, an 8 and a 3. The "83" signifies the scout belongs to Pack 4083, or Pack 83 for short.
World Crest is worn by all registered youth members and adult leaders to symbolize membership in the World Scouting movement; centered horizontally over left pocket and vertically between left shoulder seam and top of pocket.
The new 1910 World Crest ring celebrates the 100+ year history of the Boy Scouts of America. Red, white and blue with gold mylar borders, the ring fits around the World Crest. Not required for uniform wear, but a handsome addition. The ring doesn t replace the Messengers of Peace emblem for scouts who have earned it. Please continue to earn and wear this international scouting award.
