Boys and girls in grades K-5 are invited to join Cub Scouts.
The Pack is what we call all of our Scouts. Dens are small groups, typically organized by grade and gender. Each grade is a rank and is associated with an animal or a symbol:
Kindergarten = Lion
1st Grade = Tiger
2nd Grade = Wolf
3rd Grade = Bear
4th Grade = Webelos (Webelos I)
5th Grade = Arrow of Light (Webelos II)
There are two types of uniform:
Field Uniform ("Class A") - this is the one most people think of when they think of Scouts. We provide the neckerchief and ask parents to purchase the shirt/numerals . There are many options available to purchase (even fancy socks!) but our Pack does not require more than the shirt and provided neckerchief. This uniform is worn to Pack meetings and possibly some Den meetings - ask your Den Leader what is expected.
Activity Uniform ("Class B") - this is any Scouting t-shirt. Each year we will have an opportunity to purchase a new Pack t-shirt for all Scouts and family members. Scouts often wear them to outdoor activities where we may get dirty (camping/hiking) and to school to show off their Scout spirit!
Scouting is a flexible year round activity - we understand if you are busy with another activity and have to miss sometimes. We do ask that our Scouts attend the monthly pack meeting (1 hour) and their monthly den meeting (1 hour). Some dens may have more than one meeting a month to meet their advancement requirements - these requirements can also be completed as homework with your child. Our pack also offers service activities, family fun events and fundraising activities. The more you put in - the more you get out! Our leaders spend a few extra hours a month planning the fun activities.
Our annual participation fee is $175. New Scouts also have a $25 initial registration fee which is paid to BSA.

Did you check our math? The total cost to participate in Scouts is over $200. We are able to cover the difference with our fundraising efforts and corporate donations as we are affiliated with a non-profit organization.
