Our Pack's registration costs are covered by our amazing Charter, the Bayville VFW, which helps keeps costs to a minimum for working families. The Pack charges $50 per year for dues which is used to cover the cost of the Scout's program book and to celebrate their accomplishments with belt loops, pins, and badges they can proudly display. There are some additional costs related to the uniform; we have some tips to help keep those costs down as well. The official shirt, hat, Pack 27 patches, and neckerchief that are required can be obtained from the Toms River Scout Shop at 1518 Ridgeway Rd. They also offer sewing services for a small fee.

You can take a look at the Guide for Safe Scouting to see some of the extensive measures that Scouting America takes to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your child. Parent leaders also undergo Youth Protection Training and our parent volunteers are generally active members of our community.

When does the program start and end?
When does the program start and end?
The Cub Scouts program generally aligns with the school year. First meetings usually start the second week of school and continue through the end of the school year. Regular meetings are not held during the summer but Scouts may attend occasional summer gathering and activities to keep them in touch.

Pack 27 is based out of Bayville, NJ. We are Chartered by the Bayville VFW Post 9503 located at 383 Veterans Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721. This is where we host our Pack Meetings where all grade levels get together to celebrate their accomplishments. We also host events like our Recruitment Day and Fundraising events like pancake breakfast here.

If you are looking to sew the patches on yourself, you can use this picture as a reference for patch placement. For those of us with less than optimal sewing skills, Aleene's Original "Tacky" Glue works very well and survives the washing machine just fine. We offer free plastic holders for the Badge of Rank patches as well.
