What supplies and equipment are needed to participate in Cub Scouting?

To get started, your son will need a uniform and handbook, which we'll detail below. All of these items may be purchased at the GLSF Council's Scout Store, which is conveniently located in Detroit. Alternatively, you may purchase items at the BSA's official online retail site, ScoutStuff.org We strongly recommend however, that you make your first year's purchase at the brick & mortar store in Detroit or Ann Arbor as they'll provide clear guidance on the correct patches and accessories. Unless you're excited to hit REI, don't worry about camping or other supplies just yet. We'll provide guidance on those items as we go.
