What is Cub Scouting?
Cub Scouts is a Boy Scouts of America program (BSA), servicing boys in grades first through fifth. A Cub Scout Pack is separated into grade specific dens. At the completion of a scouting year the Scouts advance in rank. Ranks are as follows:
Tiger Cubs-first grade
Wolf Cubs-second grade
Bear Cubs-third grade
Webelos-fourth grade
Arrow of Light-fifth grade
At the completion of fifth grade, Scouts will transition from a Cub Scout Pack to a Boy Scout Troop.
Cub Scouts is for boys of all sizes, shapes, colors and backgrounds. No child is excluded. The program encourages children to do their best and to support and encourage others. Teamwork and good sportsmanship are other key skills encouraged by scouting. Scouting instills a strong sense of self, family and community.
The program introduces a positive set of values to live up to. It helps fulfill a child's desire for adventure and assists in the development of a variety of skills and interests. While Cub Scouts are having fun, they are also reaching personal goals, learning new things, discovering and mastering new skills, gaining self confidence, and developing strong friendships.
