The Arrow of Light symbol is made up of an arrow that points the way to a good life and a rising sun which symbolizes the constant new challenges provided by Scouting and by life itself. The seven rays in the emblem represent the seven virtues that a young man learns to become an Arrow of Light: Wisdom, Courage, Self-Control, Justice, Faith, and Hope.
The highest rank in Cub Scouting is the Arrow of Light, preparing a Cub Scout to become a member of Scouts BSA.
Arrow of Light is for youth who have completed fourth grade or are eleven years old.
The Arrow of Light program has two major milestones - the Arrow of Light rank badge to be earned before spring of 5th grade and preparing scouts to join Scouts BSA troops that they individually choose.
After an Arrow of Light Scout has earned the The Arrow of Light badge they're ready to join a Scouts BSA Troop! The Arrow of Light is the only Cub Scout badge that can be worn on the Scouts BSA uniform.

AOL scouts take their handbook to the den leader or assistant den leader for sign off when a requirement is completed. This is a change from having a parent sign off every activity. This change prepares the scout to have a Scoutmaster sign off each advancement requirement in the Scouts BSA program. There is more responsibility put on the scout to remember and bring the handbook to meetings and get it signed.
Lion, Tiger, Wolf, and Bear scouts earned belt loops. AOL scouts earn pins which can be displayed on the Adventures Colors device. This moves closer to the Scouts BSA merit badge system where recognition items are displayed on a sash.
Webelos dens Camp! Cub Scouts can camp as a pack, but Webelos aim to go out as a den as much as possible to give the scouts opportunities to learn and use their new skills. Each Webelo needs to have an adult responsible for the scout on each camping trip. Campouts may include backyard environments with dinner and s'mores made on a gas grill. Attending a district or council organized summer Webelos camp is planned.
