Note: Due to scheduling conflicts, holidays or school break, Pack and Den meetings may be moved or cancelled that month. For the most current calendar, current scouts should check Scout Book, and prospective scouts should email us.
All the scouts together from grades K-5th comprise the pack. We have approximately 15 scouts in Pack 211.
A den is the smaller set of scouts made up of the same age group (by school grade). For instance, the Tiger Den is all scouts in 1st grade or 6 years old.
Lions (Kindergarten and / or 5 years old)
Tigers (1st grade and / or 6 years old)
Wolves (2nd grade and / or 7 years old)
Bears (3rd grade and / or 8 years old)
Webelos I (4th grade and / or 9 years old)
Webelos Arrow of Light (5th grade and / or 10 years old)
Note: Scouts will move up to the next rank in August when the academic school year begins.
Uniforms are a great way to get your scout into the scouting spirit, hand-books are also important to have so your scout can follow along as we have our meetings. To purchase a uniform and other essentials, here’s the information you will need:
Shirt; Lion T-shirt for Lions, navy scout uniform shirt for Tigers, Wolves, Bears; and tan uniform shirt for Webelos – you will most likely want the short sleeve shirt for the navy or the tan uniform shirt.
Patches – see next topic for specific patches needed
Cub Scout Belt; not needed for Lions, navy belt for Tigers, Wolves, and Bears, and green belt for Webelos
Tigers, Wolves, and Bears will earn belt loop awards which will go on their belts, Webelos earn pins that they can pin on their uniform shirt.
Hat for your rank
Neckerchief for your rank
Neckerchief slide for your rank
Pants, not required for Lions, navy pants for Tigers, Wolves, and Bears; and green pants for Webelos - “official”
Scout navy pants are options, many Scouts wear their own navy blue pants or shorts or rotate them with their official uniform pants.
Socks - “official” scout socks are optional for Lions, Tigers, Wolves, and Bears. Green socks are considered part of the official uniform for Webelos and will transition with them into Boy Scouts.
Membership dues for Cub Scouts is managed by the Boy Scouts of America and Greater Los Angeles Scouting District. Learn about new membership fee changes for 2024
In addition to membership fees, the pack also collects $50 annually for each scout for belt loops, patches, and rank awards.
Cub Scouts relies on parent evolvement and participation to help our scouts develop. It is encouraged for parents to consider registering as a volunteer to be a part of the pack as a committee member, den leader, or other opportunities. Adult volunteers have a registration fee of approximately $95 annually. In addition, our pack may participate in organized events sponsored by BSA that only permit registered parents to participate in the event.
Note: membership dues and fees are subject to change.

Although often referred to as Class A (Field Uniform) and Class B (Activity Uniform), the official BSA terminology is Field and Activity Uniforms. A Field Uniform is the official uniform purchased at the Scout Shop. An Activity Uniform is an activity T-shirt. We have Pack 211-specific Activity shirts made every year or every other year. An Activity shirt is included in the Scout dues, and parents have the option to purchase matching Activity shirts for $10/shirt. Field uniforms are worn at Pack and Den meetings, as well as other official Scout outings, e.g. Torrance Armed Forces Day Parade, scout camping trips, etc. Activity uniforms can be worn on Den or Pack hikes and some Den meetings at the direction of the Den Leader.
We do a lot outside of Pack and Den meetings throughout the course of the year, including hike-a-month, camping trips, field trips, celebration dinners, etc. The Pack Committee is made up of the group of parent volunteers who help plan activities, organize field trips, and make sure our kids have a great scouting experience in general. All families are assigned to a committee to help with various aspects of making the pack run. Whether you have an assigned position on the committee or are a brand new parent, you are highly encouraged to participate in the Parent Meetings, held every 2nd Wednesday of the month, 6:30-8:30pm, currently also at Greenwood Park. Meeting information and agenda topics will be sent out via email prior to the meetings. Over the summer, we will be meeting to discuss our pack budget, committee positions, and calendar for next school year. All our Pack Leaders are parent volunteers who give 110% to make sure our kids have a great scouting experience, they would very much appreciate your support in our cub's scouting program. It's a great way to get involved and help the pack.
