Many of our alumni have come out of PACA with a wide variety of projects to address issues they see in their community. Here are some of the projects that have been developed by advocates in PACA. Maybe you've seen or heard of some of them!
Started by Na'im Pierce (Summer 20'), the Bayview Backyardigans are a team of youth and allies who noticed the absence of access to healthy and nutritious foods in the overlooked Bayview San Francisco neighborhood. To combat the longlived food inequality in the community, the youth decided to create a garden in the unused space of Adam Rogers park to grow fresh fruits, vegetables, and produce alongside community members.

Started by Saul Ramirez (Spring 21'), Keychains for Change (KFC) is a group of high schoolers dedicated to making a change in their community. They sell self-made keychains, stickers, and other amazing items. Their profits are donated to non-profit organizations dedicated to fighting poverty and homelessness.
