I'm an Assistant Professor in Finance at the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam. I received my PhD in Finance from Aalto University in September 2019. I am currently the co-organizer of the ERIM Finance Seminar.

February 2024: Trust in Traditional Finance and Consumer FinTech Adoption is forthcoming at the Review of Corporate Finance Studies

Some time in 2023: Pre-registrations for an RCT on the impact of adopting a new financial product on attitudes towards finance and others are now available at the AEA RCT registry (Project 1 and Project 2)

September 2022: Became co-organizer of the ERIM Finance Seminar (with Guosong Xu)

February 2021: New paper documenting results of a survey on the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on Finnish SMEs and the actions taken in response (with a focus on the support programs used by firms). The paper is based on the same dataset as the "debt aversion" (managerial attitudes towards debt) paper. The paper is forthcoming in the Nordic Journal of Business [SSRN link]

October 2020: New paper on how statistical literacy is associated with expectations of infection and behavior of people during the COVID-19 pandemic [SSRN link]

August 2020: New paper on managerial attitudes towards debt and corporate financial decision-making. We conduct a survey of 1,008 SMEs in Finland during the COVID-19 pandemic. [SSRN link]

May 2020: Received a continuation grant of 98,000 euro from the Foundation for the Advancement of Finnish Securities Markets to study the impact of fintech adoption, jointly with Deniz Okat (HKUST) and Vesa Pursiainen (St. Gallen)

March 2020: Became an affiliated researcher at the Hanken School of Economics

January 2020: Still haven't updated my CV or the "Excess Cash" paper (which is being rewritten)

October 2019: Presented preliminary results and a research plan of the FinTech project internally at RSM

September 2019: I started at Erasmus University

June 2019: I received a 103,000 euro grant from the Foundation for the Advancement of Finnish Securities Markets to study consumer adoption of fintech jointly with Deniz Okat (HKUST). We will also collaborate with Vesa Pursiainen (Uni. Hong Kong) on the projects in this grant
