Friends of Pocahontas State Park is our incredibly generous charter organization. Heart of Virginia Council (HoVC) is our Scouting America council and we are in Scouting America Arrohattoc District.
With more than 100 scouts, we are based in the Woodlake area of Chesterfield County, Virginia. Many of our Cub Scouts are students at Woolridge Elementary and Moseley Elementary Schools, but also Millwood, Clover Hill, Winterpock, Alberta Smith, and Grange Hall.

We are often asked - when is the best time to join? The short answer: Between June 1 and November 1st. The long answer: Scouting is beneficial to start right away at any age, grade or month but if you want to earn the rank award patch for that year, you will have catch up homework to complete to do the completed adventures done at prior den meetings for the rank. Each month the cub scouts work on completing two adventures with about 8 that are required to earn the rank for that year. So joining in December to May: A new cub scout still needs to complete the minimum 8 to earn a rank patch. It is okay to attend and NOT earn the rank then start on the next rank's adventures on June 1st when everything goes toward the next year of Scouting's rank. We have a rank up ceremony in early May corresponding with school grade.
Use your primary email address to register. You will receive a welcome email (2-5 days after registration is confirmed) from the Pack Membership Team. Pack dues are collected annually in September or at the time of joining, approximately $85 + $5 processing fee.
