Not-for-profit organization sponsors twice monthly Open Mic Nights at Stage Left Cafe, on the second and fourth Fridays of each month (except for November, when it moves to the fourth Saturday, and December, when the fourth Friday is replaced by December 31st for a New Year's Eve concert). In addition, they co-sponsor monthly folk concerts the first Saturday of the month at Unity Spiritual Center (225 W. Calhoun Street). Many of the musicians also often perform during Farmer's Markets, May through October. Please check their website for more information on concerts.

Music on the Square is a summer concert series tradition at Cooper Creek Square, in downtown Winter Park. Enjoy music from a mix of genres from blues and Americana, to jazz and country in an intimate, outdoor setting surrounded by beautiful flower gardens, a bubbling fountain, and fresh mountain air. Musicians and audiences from across the country are drawn to this sweet summer music series that is sure to delight the senses.

Last year I was excited to get a Bluetooth tesla coil for Christmas! I am trying to remember what brand I got, but I know many identical coils are sold under different brand names. The coil comes with a USB drive of terrible songs. It was disappointing to be so close to greatness by having a fantastic piece of technology but no ability to play your own songs. The instructions vaguely state that "square wave" files are required. After digging, I found a way to make or convert your own songs.

First, I want to talk about the oneTesla community. OneTesla makes tesla coil kits, and it makes up a fantastic group of people. Their coils use MIDI file formats, and the coils have a chip (or something I don't know what I am talking about) that converts the MIDI file to the square wave file. So, we can play OneTesla MIDI songs on our tesla coil if we convert them to a square wave format. I'll talk more about this later. The oneTesla forum page is a great way to find pre-optimized songs for tesla coils. If a song plays well on a oneTesla, it will likely play well on one of these pre-built Bluetooth ones. Here is a link to the oneTesla forum.

If you search the forum for specific song titles or even generic phrases like "song dump" or "collection," you will find a list of MIDI songs that can be converted to play on the tesla coil. These songs simply need to be converted to a square wave format. Fortunately, an amazing person has already made an online tool that does this! Here is the link. I take no credit for this work.

This is a free piece of software that is easy to use. I have absolutely zero musical talent, but even I could figure things out. You can start removing notes through trial and error until only the core notes remain. Additionally, any songs that are too low (maybe the key is too low? Or perhaps the octave is too low? Again, I really don't know what I am talking about) will not play well on the tesla coil resulting in a lot of static. To fix this, you can select all of the notes in the midi file and drag them up a full octave (I think that's the right word). Doing this made some of my songs go from unplayable to complete perfection.

Hey friends! I received a small tesla coil for Christmas today (Joytech Bluetooth SSTC SS02) and it is an impressive device. But it seems to be a Chinese device that works differently than the onetelsa I am familiar with. It is a Bluetooth-enabled device where a square wave mp3 song is sent to the device. They included about a dozen or two songs but they are all pretty lame and I can't find any square wave songs.

Concerts on the Square has been bringing music to the Capitol Square for over 40 years. Since it's founding in 1984, Concerts on the Square has become a favorite Madison tradition for tens of thousands each year.

LA GENTE SF was born in the eclectic San Francisco Bay Area and is currently on their 2023 world tour. Their music and live shows fuse together rhythms, dances and cultural influences from all over Latino America and the Caribbean with a distinct San Francisco flavor, to create an infectious, high energy dance party.

The name says it all. During its many years of phenomenal success, Pride & Joy SF has remained the most popular party band on the Bay Area music scene. This group is the Pride of the Bay Area and a Joy to anyone who loves to dance. They have achieved this by presenting the most timeless pop/soul music of our time in an electrifying high-style show that pulls the audience directly into the heart of their performance.

With Passim and the Sinclair working together to offer a little bit of everything, it would seem Harvard Square is still a paradise for music lovers, if not quite on the scale that it once was. Yet with everything going on, students may not be listening.

In addition to the music, movies and family fun, the Chamber is supporting and helping coordinate dozens of independent events on and around the Square like artist and maker markets, festivals and cultural celebrations.

Each Year the Crosslake Ideal Lions Club organizes a music series in Crosslake, MN called Music In the Square. Formerly referred to as Music In The Park, the name of the event has been recently updated to more accurately reflect the current location in Town Square.

We are so excited to welcome new teachers on our faculty here at Monument Square Community Music school for 2018 music lessons! Pianist Theo Demosthenes, multi-instrumentalist and guitarist Owen Ross, vocalist Melissa Gates, and vocalist Caitlin Sausville are the new instructors. We will definitely be showcasing each teacher individually, but for this overview we will just say that each of these musicians is unique and talented, and with these new teachers we have added a ton of energy and new ideas to our school. We are also thrilled with all of the new students and the progress of our students who have been with us a while. It is great to see Monument Square Music school grow and thrive in the new location, our store front right in the heart of downtown Leominster!
