My research focuses on the evolution of volcanic sequences through detailed geological work, including mapping and stratigraphy, geochemistry and igneous petrology, through a physical volcanology approach, of mainly felsic (evolved) rocks. These includes calderas and ignimbrites, hydrovolcanism, as well as volcaniclastic sedimentology, catastrophic landslides, mass wasting processes, debris-avalanches and Quaternary geology. I have experience with Ar/Ar, U/Pb geochronology, paleomagnetism and environmental geology. Other research interests encompass economic and applied geology, exploration and industrial/strategic minerals, as well as geothermal, unconventional reservoirs and petrophysics.
