Welcome to our lab!
(Formerly the Fungal Evolutionary Genetics Lab)
We explore fungal plant pathogens to address fundamental and applied questions in evolutionary biology. Our research spans a wide array of topics; including host specialization, fungicide resistance, phylogeny, population genetics and genomics, coding and non-coding RNAs, genome variation and architecture, mitogenomes, microbiome/mycobiome diversity, transposable elements, epigenetics, and alternative splicing, demonstrating the wide scope and significance of our work. By integrating field collections, wet-lab experiments, and computational analyses of large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets, we study how pathogens adapt and interact with their hosts, other microbes, and their environments.
Our group is located in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Çanakkale, TÜRKİYE.
If you are curious about fungal pathogens and what they can teach us about evolution, our lab is the place to explore. Here, you will develop hands-on experimental and computational skills while seeing how your discoveries make a real-world impact; including advancing fundamental science, contributing to the literature, and impacting fields from agriculture and ecosystem health to biotechnology. You will find opportunities to learn, discover, and make a meaningful difference as you grow and develop on your journey as a scientist.
