Our Diocesan Directorate of Catholic Education (DDEC)* is one of the biggest of France.
Indeed on our territory, it's 350 catholic educational institutions. So, in order to be able to support all of their Erasmus+ projects, the DDEC of Loire-Atlantique based in Nantes has chosen to develop an International Department called Ozanam+.
This name is a reference to our working site called after the Blessed Frédéric Ozanam (The founder of the Society Saint-Vincent-De-Paul: a charity founded in Paris in 1833).
The "+" is referring to the Erasmus exchange program "Erasmus+".
We want to offer the pupils coherent international academic courses from primary to high school by giving them the possibility to exchange with foreign pupils, to go on internship abroad (highschoolers from vocational high school).
Nowadays, it's vital to be open to the world. So we do our maximum to give the pupils as much as opportunities we can.
This objective is achieved by helping the teachers to be the best of themselves. Indeed, we encourage them to go abroad to learn a foreign language or to do a job shadowing (learn more).
