Class Descriptions
Little Dragons
The World Tang Soo Do Association developed this program for younger children, ages 6 to 7, to assist them in their readiness for the formal training of older practitioners. The benefits of a martial arts training program for children has been proven to contribute to a young child’s positive character, their academic achievements, and many other favorable areas of their lives. Classes include warm-ups, basic drills, forms, and games designed for children. The emphasis is on fun while learning!
Youth Classes
This class teaches the fundamentals of Tang Soo Do. This class is for youth ages 8-13. In addition to the physical training, students are taught respect, self-discipline, confidence, proper behavior, responsibility, patience, and justice. Students in this class will learn basic kicks, punches, blocks, forms, and self-defense. With emphasis on the fundamentals this class builds a good foundation on which the student will build his/her martial arts training.
Adult Classes
The adult class is for beginners to advanced students, and prepares students for all ranks. The classes are more intensive and physically demanding than the children’s classes and are designed for those 13 and older, although exceptions (families, schedules, etc…) are occasionally made. In addition to the traditional WTSDA curriculum there are occasional guest instructors, and other topics related to martial arts.
