Annaleise provides University-wide support for staff and research students in the evaluation of their Public Engagement with Research activities. Annaleise also facilitates the PER Seed Fund – an internal grants scheme providing funds for researchers to develop, deliver and evaluate PER activities.

Philip is developing computational methods that can predict whether novel mutations cause resistance to an antibiotic (or not). As part of this he set up BashTheBug, a citizen science project hosted by the Zooniverse, in April 2017. So far over 40,000 people have taken part doing over 3.5 million classifications between them.

Chris’s research is currently focused on galaxy formation; runs citizen science projects to investigate galaxy formation, discover planets and more; and is the founder of Zooniverse, the world’s largest and most popular platform for people-powered research and is also the presenter of The Sky at Night on BBC Four.

Alison’s research is on the developmental genetics of the nematode worm Caenorhabditis elegans. As the University’s champion for Public Engagement with Research, Alison provides academic leadership for the implementation of the University’s Public Engagement with Research strategic plan.
